As the RSA has been communicating, effective January 1, 2022, the city will replace the current available Medicare plans as the “premium free” plans with a newly created NYC Medicare Advantage Plus Plan. Since announcement of this change, we have received numerous phone calls and emails regarding this new Medicare Advantage plan. The RSA has reached out to the SBA regarding this issue and member questions and concerns. On behalf of our members and the SBA members, the SBA has requested the Alliance (Empire BlueCross BlueShield and Emblem Health) to be available to outline the new plan to our Medicare retirees and those approaching Medicare eligibility.
On Monday, August 23rd, at 10:00 AM, the SBA will host a Zoom Webinar on the new Medicare Advantage plan. Members are required to pre-register by clicking on the following link:

Once the pre-registration is completed, submitted, and approved, you will receive a confirmation email with all the necessary information, credentials, and link to join the SBA Zoom Webinar on August 23rd. Your approval credentials and link will only allow you to join the webinar from one device, so please do not share your approval credentials with others and do not register more than once, this will cause your registration to be voided.
We are also asking members, prior to the webinar, to submit questions, ONLY relating to the NYC Medicare Advantage Plus Plan, via email to: rsa@rsanypd.org.
