As of January 1, 2018, the NYPD License Division will only be accepting online applications for handgun licenses, rifle/shotgun permits, and renewals, at the “NYPD Permitting & Licensing” public portal at: https://licensing.nypdonline.org. Applications on paper are no longer accepted. NYC pistol licensees, including retired members of the NYPD, must now renew their permits online.
Many of you have found this new process difficult and cumbersome. There have been several meetings with the license division regarding this issue. We are being told that they are in the process of simplifying this process. If you visit 1 P.P., Room 110A, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM until 3:30 PM, there is staff available to assist with this process.

We will have representatives of the NYPD License Division at the RSA general meeting on April 25 at 6:30 PM at Oriental Plaza Restaurant, 1845 Richmond Ave,
Staten Island, NY 10314.
